I feel authenticity is as great (perhaps greater, this being the SCA) an appeal as esthetics; this hits hardest when the style (occasionally) doesn't match the persona of the recipient. Last month I was elevated, and I am so happy to have my scroll look as much as possible like a dark ages charter even though I'm sure many would have loved to have put a lot of work into making a beautiful, colorful, gilded scroll for my elevation. I am thrilled to know that someone like you is putting in the time and effort to make sure that scrolls are authentic as well as lovely. If your work has gone unmentioned by others, please know that it makes a difference both to the recipient and the audience in my experience. The SCA is a wonderful venue in which each of us studies what we enjoy, and we learn from others simply be being exposed to the fruits of their efforts. This is one of the greatest strengths and joys of the SCA. Thank you for your contribution. ArastormAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
